When single mom LIZ DARLING finds out that her estranged father has been injured in an accident, she has to go back to the town she grew up in, the picturesque town of Portside, in the Pacific Northwest. It's her first Christmas back in years and not much has changed, except for LUKE, her childhood best friend who's definitely not the same boy she remembers. While this might not have been the Christmas she imagined, Liz sees this as an opportunity to show her daughter HANNAH a magical Portside Christmas. Every year the residents gather for iconic activities like a holiday bazaar, the annual Christmas Ball and the ultimate grand finale, the Christmas Eve Sailboat Parade of Lights. Liz's mother loved Christmas and being in the Parade, but after she passed away, the family boat was docked for good along with her father's Christmas spirit. When Liz discovers that her father may lose their family home, she comes up with a plan: if she can getthe boat fixed up, they can enter the Parade of Lights in hopes of winning the grand prize to save their house. With Christmas just around the corner, Liz will have to work together with Luke to create a floating decorated display that would make Liz's mother proud. And for all of this to work, Liz will have to face painful memories in order to reconcile with her father, strengthen her relationship with her daughter, and reconnect with Luke.
