As the town prepares for its 50th Annual Christmas Fair, New York-based freelance writer Katie Connell heads to Evergreen seeking a little inspiration for a novel. Instead, Katie finds herself assigned by her mother's magazine to write astory on Evergreen's Christmas-driven tourism. Katie dives into her research with the help of Nan, the local librarian, but meets with resistance from Nan's grandson and library employee Ben Baxter, who is adamant that any article writtenabout Evergreen be as accurate as possible. As Evergreen's full month of daily celebrations break out, Katie finds she's been wrong about a town that's too good to be true, and instead finds herself falling for what Ben has been describing all along: the magic and bond shared by the people of Evergreen. Meanwhile, newly-elected Mayor Michelle finds herself worried that her new love Thomas won't make his way down from the logging camp in time for Christmas and Hannah finds herself falling for an old friend who becomes a new flame. As Katie continues her research, she and Ben witness an even greater Christmas surprise when Carol, Joe, and friends discover a 50 year old secret hidden in the walls of the Kringle Kitchen. As the romance between Ben and Katie grows, they discover more secrets about the town's past, and Katie finds herself torn: does she return to New York City or stay in Evergreen?
