Janatar Adalat' is the story of common men rising against oppressive powers and tortures of the local MLA Debi Choudhury, the corrupt OC and his men. Debi's man Gobra physically exploits Lata, Bapi's girlfriend as a result of which she commits suicide. Another poor man is killed for his property. The shopkeepers are troubled by extortionists. Even the simple and honest school master isn't spared by Debi and his men. Michael, Bapi, Jahar and their friends stand up against their atrocities. Michael's brother gets killed while trying to save the slum from being captured. The new SP of the region comes and tries to end Debi's tortures. But, his daughter gets kidnapped. Michael and his men rescue her and kill Gobra. Debi and the corrupt OC is badly thrashed by the people and is arrested.
