A medical student, Aditi, returns to visit her mother in Calcutta. She has spent most of her childhood at a boarding school and doesn’t know much about her parents, particularly her father who died when she was young. Her mother Sarojini, a noted dancer is preparing to receive an important prize. The girl is still obsessed with the loss of her father and as his death anniversary approaches, she becomes increasingly despondent; something her mother fails to notice as she is caught up in the brouhaha surrounding the award. A tragedy catches the mother’s attention and finally mother and daughter make their peace.
