A joint family consisting of three brothers Prem (Shashi Kapoor), Vijay (Raj Kiran) and Ravi (Mithun Chakraborty) and Prem's wife Laxmi Devi (Moushumi Chatterjee) are leading a happy and prosperous life. They consider their house a temple of love. However, tragedy strikes when the eldest brother Prem is assassinated for protesting against a powerful mill-owner Seth Dharamdas (Kader Khan). Seth Dharamdas arranges his daughter's marriage with Prem's younger brother Vijay and decides to use her as a pawn to break the pious joint family. Will Ravi be able to put an end to the crisis in his family and unite them all?
