Raj (Akshay Kumar) is in love with his childhood friend, Kajal (Lara Dutta), but a young pilot named Karan (Aman Verma) captures her heart and Kajal gets married to him. Raj accepts their marriage with a heavy heart but is unable to forget Kajal. However, succumbing to family pressure, he agrees to marry an uptown girl named Jiya (Priyanka Chopra). Soon he learns that Jiya is Kajal's sister-in-law, and that Karan is dead. He sees Kajal in a miserable state and is distraught. Will Raj help Kajal even if it means risking his own marriage?
