The film narrates the story of Michelle , a deaf-and-blind woman, and her relationship with her teacher Debraj , an elderly alcoholic teacher who himself later develops Alzheimer's disease. Black features Amitabh Bachchan in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Rani Mukerji, Shernaz Patel, Ayesha Kapoor, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Sillo Mahava and Chippy Gangjee.
